Prologue

This page and the Rome photos page get a lot of hits these days, which is cool (thanks, Alta Vista!). Drop me a line and tell me what you think of the page, the site or the photos.

Notre Dame 1Notre Dame 2

Notre Dame, of course! The lady was just 5 minutes from our hotel and we went by her every day. This is easily my favorite Gothic structure in all of Europe. Unfortunately, right now the entire front facade is covered in scaffolding for restoration.

Ste Chapelle 1Ste Chapelle 2Ste Chapelle 3

I almost didn't include these photos. It really doesn't do Ste Chapelle justice at all. I bought a book with some great photos of the various Parisian monuments and churches and even those don't capture it. The middle shot is the reliquary shelter and the far right is a detail of a window.

The D'Orsay Clock

This the D'Orsay clock. Isn't this the coolest wall-hanging clock you've ever seen? Yes, it is.
